"We believe that everyone is capable of learning to adequately defend themselves without the need to spend years studying a martial art. Self Defence in it's truest form is about never needing to defend yourself in the first place".

At StreetSense teaching Personal Safety, and Self Defense that is simple, effective and proven in combat is our top priority. We realize that most people do not have the time or the inclination to spend years learning a martial art. We also know the realities of how and why violent crimes occur and the differences between how Personal Safety needs to be taught for Men and Women.
We've always believed that a simple is better. We know from experience that when everything goes sideways and the adrenaline is flowing, you won't be able to remember or perform complicated techniques. You will also severely impair your ability to form rational thought. The "lizard" brain takes over and escape, or survival is the only goal. We teach you to control and use it to sharpen your Personal Safety and Self Defense skills and improve overall safety in your life.
A big part of what shaped our development of our training philosophy is prevention. If we can prevent our students from ever becoming targeted for crime or violence; or at least dramatically reduce their risk then Self Defense becomes a moot point. How we do this is through education, experience and practice. We show our students how simple changes to their mindset and lifestyle can dramatically decrease risk in all areas of their lives.
Toughening the mind is an skill that is developed during training. We know that who survives in any Self Defense situation is often decided by who's mind is more prepared to do anything, regardless of cost to survive. Let us show you how to use this often neglected component of training to increase the effectiveness of your Personal Safety Plan.
